Week Two: What We Built
A full Research page, a rewritten Meetings page, legal policies, and a lot of polish.

Issue #2 · March 25, 2026

One week since we published our first newsletter, and the site has changed fast. Here's everything that shipped between March 18 and March 25.

Research & Education Page

The biggest addition this week: a full Research & Education page.

  • NEW 2025–2026 statistics — peer-reviewed data on gambling disorder prevalence, global gross gaming revenue, and neuroscience findings.
  • NEW DSM-5 diagnostic criteria — the clinical checklist for gambling disorder, presented clearly for anyone who needs it.
  • NEW Curated articles — the latest research articles, ordered newest-first, with a "More Articles" toggle so the page stays clean.
  • NEW Gambling recovery podcasts — a new section with podcasts focused on recovery and awareness.
  • NEW Video section — curated YouTube videos on gambling addiction and recovery.
  • NEW GGR & prevalence stat cards — a 2×4 card grid showing key numbers at a glance.
  • Charts switch to horizontal bars on mobile for readability, with a scrollable container so nothing gets cut off.

Meetings Page Rewrite

The /meetings page got a full rewrite this week.

  • NEW Virtual-first messaging — the page now leads with the fact that every meeting listed is online and free.
  • Browse order changed to Country → State → Day for a more intuitive flow.
  • Filtered US-only states — non-US values like "NSW" no longer appear in the state list.
  • "Worldwide" removed from the country index to keep the focus on specific regions.
  • NEW Live meetings CTA banner — a prominent banner encouraging visitors to find a meeting happening right now.

Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

Legal pages are now live.

  • NEW Terms of Service and Privacy Policy pages with complete legal language.
  • Both linked from the footer on every page.
  • NEW One-time policy notice banner — first-time visitors see a dismissible banner acknowledging the Terms and Privacy Policy.

Newsletter Opt-In

  • NEW Homepage opt-in — visitors can now subscribe to the newsletter directly from the top of the homepage.
  • The opt-in form is positioned inside the main content area for clean layout on all screen sizes.

Navigation & Mobile UX

The nav got a significant overhaul this week, especially on mobile.

  • Desktop navigation collapsed into a hamburger menu for a cleaner header.
  • Appearance theme picker moved into a collapsible dropdown in the nav — defaulting to light mode.
  • Resources link added to nav on all pages.
  • Active page highlighting — the current page link is now visually marked in the nav.
  • Multiple mobile fixes: full-width dropdown panel, proper indentation, no more blinking caret on the Appearance toggle, and the site quote hidden on small screens to keep the Join Free button visible.
  • Sticky saved-meetings strip disabled on mobile to prevent layout issues.

SEO & Discoverability

  • Organization schema added — Google now understands GAMeetingFinder as a structured entity.
  • SearchAction schema fixed so the site search box can appear in Google results.
  • Sitemap expanded with previously missing pages (Research, Newsletter, Meetings, etc.).
  • Login and Register pages marked noindex — utility pages no longer use crawl budget.
  • Homepage title tag, meta description, and keywords strengthened for better ranking.
  • © 2026 GAMeetingFinder.com added to all page footers.

Cross-Linking & CTAs

  • "Find a meeting" links added naturally within the body of the Research, About, and Resources pages.
  • A quiet "Find a meeting" link added to the footer on all secondary pages.
  • "Browse by location" link added on the homepage pointing to /meetings.
  • "About this site" link added to the footer on every page.

What's Next

The foundation is solid. The next phase is about growing the audience and making the site more useful:

  • Email delivery for newsletter subscribers
  • More meeting data — expanding coverage beyond what's currently listed
  • Partnership outreach to treatment facilities and state gambling councils

If you know someone who could use a meeting, send them to gameetingfinder.com. That's the whole point.

See you next week.
