A weekly read on meetings, recovery, and the news.

| Times in Your Timezone |
The headline this week is a deep one under the hood: meeting times now display in your timezone, with daylight-saving handled correctly. Logged-in users get their saved timezone preference; everyone else falls back to their browser. International meetings also show the meeting's home-city local time as a sub-line (e.g. 06:00 AM London local).
- 72 international meetings had quietly drifted an hour off because of stale source-country DST data — 26 in Ireland, 17 in Australia, plus 29 across other zones.
- ~180 US meetings stored as Chicago time were actually Eastern, Pacific, or Mountain. All re-corrected.
- Times are now computed fresh on every page load from a stored IANA timezone (e.g.
Europe/Dublin), so DST rolls forward and back automatically going forward.
If you've ever shown up to an empty room at the wrong hour, this is likely why. We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused over the past week!

| Reactions & Ratings |
The thumbs-up / thumbs-down / skip pill drops onto a meeting card after you click Join. |
Two new ways to give back to the community without making an account:
- Post-meeting feedback. Click Join Meeting, attend, and a thumbs-up / thumbs-down / skip pill drops onto the card next time you visit. Once a meeting crosses 10 ratings, a % thumbs-up chip appears so you can see at a glance which rooms the community is finding helpful.
- Emoji reactions. Anonymous, Zoom-chat-style reactions on the homepage social-proof block, every research and OC article, news entries, and YouTube video cards. Full Unicode set including country flags, with light moderation behind the scenes.
Both anonymous — but if you sign in later, your earlier reactions and ratings re-attach to your account.

| Performance & Polish |
- Fastload is now on by default. The homepage paints 30 meetings instantly, then hydrates the rest as you scroll.
- Meeting-card timezone conversion is now lazy, via an IntersectionObserver — below-the-fold work doesn't slow down what you're actually looking at.
- Country flags now render correctly on Windows (Chrome / Edge / Firefox), via the Twemoji Country Flags font.
- Live meetings sort to the top of the upcoming meetings list on first paint instead of jumping there a beat later.
- Fixed a UTC countdown bug where the timer would freeze at 0m 00s the moment a meeting started.
- Meeting names like Volver a Vivir Con Paso Firme now surface on cards when meaningful, and hide when they'd duplicate the city/state line.
- Sentry SDK loads after the page is interactive (kills first-paint layout shift), critical CSS gets
fetchpriority="high", Safari private-mode visitors no longer crash on missing localStorage. - Opened
robots.txtto AI search crawlers (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity) so the site shows up in AI-driven search results.
